On October 30, the International Frontier Conference on AI Security and Governance, guided by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and the People’s Government of Mentougou District, was held in Beijing’s Mentougou District. The conference officially launched the Beijing General Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Partners Program – Security and Governance Capacity Building Network, and released two major reports: Artificial Intelligence Model Security Assessment and Industry Practice Report and Beijing Artificial Intelligence Governance Case Collection.
At the conference, APUS’s medical large model and digital human applications, designed to support hospitals in intelligent diagnosis and treatment, were successfully selected for inclusion in the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Governance Case Collection. This recognition highlights APUS as a leading example of AI empowerment in the healthcare sector.
The selected project, the APUS Qihuang Medical Large Model, was developed through incremental pre-training on 600 billion high-quality medical knowledge data points. It has demonstrated outstanding performance in the CME Comprehensive Medical Examination Dataset Evaluation, with overall results significantly surpassing ChatGPT. The model integrates traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) semantic understanding with modern medical reasoning, creating a full-chain intelligent diagnosis and treatment system that spans data hub – intelligent decision-making – service extension. It is widely applied in medical knowledge base construction, intelligent consultations and diagnostic support platforms, AI medical digital human services, and intelligent medical quality assessment systems. The model enables AI to not only “understand medicine” but also “practice diagnosis,” serving as a core technology in driving hospitals’ digital and intelligent transformation.
Since May 2024, the intelligent diagnosis and treatment platform powered by the APUS Qihuang Model has been launched in three hospitals, serving over 1.2 million patients with triage, consultation, and treatment services. According to hospital data, the platform now handles over 3,000 consultations daily, improving response speed by 400%, raising triage accuracy from 72% to 96.8%, shortening patient waiting time by 27%, and increasing daily outpatient visits by 18%, with patient satisfaction reaching 97%. These results clearly demonstrate the model’s remarkable impact on improving medical service quality and optimizing healthcare resource allocation, making faster, more accurate, and more convenient healthcare a reality.
Over the past year, the APUS Qihuang Medical Large Model has received more than 20 major awards, including the National Health Commission’s Smart Healthcare Innovation Award and the “Top 10 Innovation Cases of 2024 in China’s Internet Industry” by the Cyberspace Administration of China. It has also been recognized as a Typical AI Large Model Application Case at the Digital Economy Conference, a Future Industry Innovation Outstanding Case at the Zhongguancun Forum, and was featured in the Panorama Report on High-Quality Development of Digital Healthcare Products and Services. These achievements establish APUS as an industry benchmark and a key innovation force in China’s AI-driven healthcare field.
